Peoria Promise Foundation

Peoria Promise Foundation
At the heart of Peoria Heights is a vibrant community of businesses and individuals who make our village thrive.

Each month, we’re proud to shine a light on one of our Chamber members—celebrating their unique story, contributions, and the passion they bring to our local community. This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Peoria Promise Foundation, a donor-funded tuition reimbursement program for high school graduates in the Peoria, Illinois area.

What motivated you to start your organization?

Peoria Promise was formed 18 years ago to help grow the educated workforce in our region. By removing financial barriers to higher education, we're creating opportunities for students to thrive while strengthening the economic foundation of our community.

Why are you a Chamber member?

We recently expanded our program to include students at Peoria Heights High School and Peoria Heights residents, and becoming a Chamber member was a natural next step in our commitment to this community. We're proud to support the students and families who call the Heights home.

What's an interesting fact about Peoria Promise that most people don't know?

Peoria Promise is 100% donor funded—we receive no local, state, or federal tax dollars. Each year, we provide support to 250-300 students to attend Illinois Central College. Originally serving City of Peoria and West Peoria students, we've now expanded to include Peoria Heights students as well. Every dollar comes from generous community investors who believe in the power of education.

What is your favorite quote or motto you live by?

"The best investment a business can make is one that enhances the economic future of its community." Education is a gift that keeps on giving—it empowers and motivates individuals to thrive, and that ripple effect strengthens all of us.

Any final note or special promotion you would like to share?

Big news! Effective February 1, 2026, Peoria Heights High School graduates and residents who attend private high schools are eligible to apply for Peoria Promise. They can begin receiving tuition benefits starting with the Fall 2026 semester at Illinois Central College.
