Each month, we’re proud to shine a light on one of our Chamber members—celebrating their unique story, contributions, and the passion they bring to our local community. This month, we’re excited to introduce you to The Daily Scoop, a locally owned ice cream shop serving Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream.
Now after celebrating their first year in business, Peoria Heights residents, Matt and Cathy Algas, made the exciting decision to rebrand and join the rest of Prospect’s independently owned shops.
With their new name comes even more flavors and options! This fall, you can treat yourself to seasonal favorites like Caramel Apple Pie, Apple Cider Donut (yes, it has donuts in it!), Snap-o-Lantern, and the always-popular S’More to Love. As the holidays roll in, look forward to festive scoops of Cinnamon, Eggnog, Peppermint, and Zanzimint—beloved by longtime fans.
The Daily Scoop is more than just ice cream. They offer vegan, sugar-free, and non-dairy Italian ice options, plus real fruit smoothies and shakes made with any of their flavors. They also bring the fun to you with an ice cream push cart for private parties and a full ice cream truck for larger events.
The best part? While other shops close for the colder months, The Daily Scoop stays open through December so you can enjoy sweet treats all year long. They’ll reopen in March with extended hours and even more delicious surprises. Stop in soon, and don’t forget—they’ve got gift cards, too!
